Dakwakada Capital Investments L.P. (“Dakwakada”, or “DCILP”) and its wholly owned subsidiary Mac Plastics (“Mac Plastics”) is pleased to announce we are working to secure the safety of front-line employees at major grocery chains by building over 1,000 plastic guards for cashiers and pharmacists.

Interest in these protective measures began early on Friday, March 20th, 2020 from an article posted by Globe and Mail. By the end of the day, Mac Plastics had produced prototypes and secured orders for over 1,000 units. Fortunately, Mac Plastics maintains a robust inventory of sheet stock and could immediately shift its production shift to working on these protective measures.

With its supply chain depth, Mac Plastics was able to secure more sheet stock from its suppliers across North America and promise to deliver these products by the end of the week.

Alex Doepel, DCILP’s CEO commented, “We are extremely proud of the work done by Mac Plastics to be able to produce these safety devices in such a short turnaround. It is critically important to do all we can to help the front-line workers of companies providing essential services in this time of need. Equally important, is the work it will provide for our employees. We are pleased to be able to provide some income security for our employees.

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Mac Plastics has been in business for over 55 years and has built the reputation of being the leader in the design, fabrication and installation of plastic and glass skylights in Western Canada, under the banner of Mac Skylights (“Mac Skylights”). Mac Plastics provides an exceptional range of glass and plastic skylights for commercial and residential applications, plastic fabrication of many types of plastic products, and also provides installation and repair services.
