Conrad Browne
President and CEO
Conrad has more than 30 years of management experience in First Nations’ capital investment & finance, the natural resource sector, large national and international companies, as well as hospitality and restaurant businesses.
At Dakwakada Capital Investments LP he leads the team responsible for undertaking and managing private investment in properties, funds, and businesses on behalf of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations Trust. He joined DCI in 2023 from forestry company Teal Jones, where he was Director of Indigenous Partnerships and Strategic Relations, responsible for the firm’s relationship with First Nations in whose territories that company operates. Prior to that he was CEO of the K’awat’si Economic Development Corporation (KEDC), for the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations (GNN) in Port Hardy, BC. He first joined the GNN as an economic development officer and built KEDC from the ground up – taking it from one employee and a single business line to 150 employees in six lines in a few years. He joined GNN from BC’s then Ministry of Forests and Range, where he was District Compliance Leader & Operations Manager. Growing up in Alberta, Conrad spent his formative years in agricultural and ranching. Conrad was previously a Registered Forest Technologist and also has his 4th class Power Engineer’s ticket and his Chef’s papers.
Loan Bui
Chief Financial Officer
Loan Anh (Lo) Bui is an accomplished financial executive with over 20 years of experience in private equity financing, capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, enterprise resource planning, and managing significant growth phases. Before joining DCI, Loan gained extensive manufacturing experience in sectors of environmental products, automotive parts, natural resources, and food services. A Chartered Professional Accountant, Lo holds a BA in Economics and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA in Artificial Intelligence Leadership. Her financial career began in Whitehorse as an auditor. She has great affection for the Yukon and its people, fueling her aspiration to return for work.
Since June 2024, Lo has been leading financial management at DCI, embracing all that Whitehorse and the territory have to offer. She enjoys the vibrant culture, close-knit community, hot springs, running and hiking trails, and the diverse array of activities and facilities.
David Seymour
Director of Corporate Development
David Seymour has over 20 years of valuation and modelling experience. Prior to joining DCI, he held leadership roles in valuation and financial modelling teams and worked in equity research covering oil and gas companies. He has held senior roles in oil and gas, investment banking and accounting. Accompanying his experience in valuation and modelling is an extensive background in business development, having worked in numerous positions where this was a core function. He enjoys discovering new investment opportunities and learning about different industries. David holds a CPA CMA designation along with his MBA and M.Sc.
Michael Bennett
Human Resources Manager
Michael joins the DCI team with over 30 years of human resources experience across Canada and the United States. His corporate HR career has spanned a variety of sectors, including construction, manufacturing, technology, financial services/securities, industrial product sales and education. He has also owned and operated consulting practices in Toronto and Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Human Resources Management Program, has a Master Certificate in Human Resources from Villanova University, as well as a Certificate in Non-Profit Governance.
Tanya MacAulay
Manager, Government Marketing & Procurement
Tanya joins DCI with more than 20-years’ experience in procurement for government organizations, primarily Alberta municipalities. At DCI she is responsible for supporting Dakwakada companies submitting bids for government contracts for everything from environmental remediation to providing custom windows and doors for new schools. Many governments at all levels in Canada are now recognizing the importance of engaging Indigenous-owned suppliers like Dakwakada companies to support the diversification and strength of their own supply chains while advancing reconciliation. When she’s not at work, you can probably find Tanya with the rescue dogs she and her husband foster, enjoying time with their four grown sons and grandson, or on her motorcycle taking in the scenery and big sky of the Alberta landscape surrounding their home in Sherwood Park.
