Dakwakada Capital Investments has acquired Southern Door, a long-standing garage door operation in Medicine Hat, AB. Southern Door will join the Canada West Garage Doors family of companies, a division of Dakwakada Capital Investments.
“Southern has been a fixture in Medicine Hat since 1980, offering local residents and businesses great service installing and maintaining garage doors in their homes and across a broad array of commercial applications, from warehouses to agricultural shops,” says Chad Beebe, Canada West General Manager. “Canada West plans to continue the company’s tradition of offering services across southern Alberta and Saskatchewan.”
Southern Door’s previous owner, Sherryl Morrison, will continue with the company through the end of the year to assist with the transition. All Southern Door employees are being asked to stay with the company, with the potential of new opportunities as the operation develops.
“We’re grateful Sherryl has agreed to consult with us for the rest of this year to make sure we have a smooth transition,” Beebe says. “She and her family have done a tremendous job with Southern Door in recent years, and I’m looking forward to working with her over the next few months.”
Canada West has four garage door operations, based in Whitehorse, Kelowna, Victoria, and now Medicine Hat.
